In a televised statement, member of Hamas negotiating delegation Khalil Al-Hayya, reaffirmed Hamas’ stance on the ceasefire deal presented by US President Joe Biden.

Al-Hayya emphasized that Hamas has shown the necessary “seriousness and flexibility” to finalize the agreement, but said “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of avoiding reaching an agreement.

He stressed that any agreement must include a halt to aggression and a complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, including the Philadelphi Corridor and the Rafah crossing.

The agreement must also allow displaced Palestinians to return to their homes freely, provide humanitarian relief, and initiate reconstruction efforts, along with a prisoner exchange deal.

Al-Hayya rejected any new proposals or suggestions from any party, stating that there is no need to return to square one or engage in a futile cycle that serves Netanyahu's objectives.

He called on the US administration, particularly President Biden, to abandon its blind support for the “Israeli” government and enforce what was agreed upon under Biden’s initiative.

Al-Hayya added that Hamas and other factions have started engaging with international mediators and countries to highlight the delays and stalling tactics being employed by Netanyahu.

He concluded by asserting that Hamas will not accept any agreement that compromises the Palestinian people’s rights to halt the aggression, receive humanitarian aid, rebuild Gaza, and ensure “Israeli” withdrawal.
